ACADEMIC & RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE

THE TWO COURTS

At Saint Aurelius Academy, academic, residential, and social life is organized around two foundational divisions: Crown Court and Thorn Court. Neither Court holds supremacy over the other; both exist in balance within a single residential institution on Vesper Island.

“The Crown must remember the Thorn.
The Thorn must remember the Crown.”

Standards & Specialisation

Older students may pursue advanced electives, independent research and specialised academic pathways.

Court-specific provisions supplement this shared curriculum rather than replacing it.

Crown Court primarily follows the daytime timetable, while Thorn Court primarily follows a nocturnal timetable designed around vampire biology.

Certain specialist subjects, medical provisions and historical studies differ between the Courts, but both receive a broad and rigorous education expected of an elite residential academy.

Shared Facilities

Shared Campus Grounds

Where Crown Court and Thorn Court meet, shared campus infrastructure serves students from both sides. The Grand Library, Saint Aurelius Hall, the Concord Quadrangle, and the Aurelius Athletic Grounds serve as central facilities where daytime and nocturnal scholars study, collaborate on research, and engage in campus life.
