CONDUCT & RESIDENTIAL LIFE

ACADEMY RULES

Saint Aurelius Academy maintains one institutional code for both Courts, with additional provisions where mortal and vampire students have different biological or scheduling requirements.

Rules exist to protect student welfare, preserve academic standards and allow two distinct Court systems to operate within one residential campus.

I CONDUCT & ACADEMICS

ACADEMIC ATTENDANCE

Students are required to attend all scheduled lessons, tutorials, assemblies, training sessions and Society obligations unless formally excused.

Crown and Thorn timetables carry equal academic authority.

“Being nocturnal is not considered an excuse for missing a Thorn Court morning tutorial. It was scheduled at 8:00 p.m.”

II HOUSING & RESIDENCE

COURT RESIDENCES

Students may not enter private dormitories or restricted residential areas assigned to the opposite Court without permission.

Shared academic, athletic and communal areas operate according to the published campus schedule.

“Climbing through a window does not constitute permission.”

III BIOLOGICAL PROVISIONS

FEEDING & BLOOD PROVISIONS

Vampire students may consume only Academy-approved blood provisions or privately authorised supplies.

Feeding directly from another student is prohibited on Academy grounds regardless of consent.

Medical exceptions require Infirmary supervision.

“Permission from the student does not override Academy policy. Neither does permission from their roommate, prefect, Society president, legal representative, or father who happens to be a governor.”

IV SAFETY & COEXISTENCE

VIOLENCE & COERCION

Violence, intimidation, coercion and deliberate use of physical or supernatural advantages against another student are prohibited.

This applies equally to both Courts.

“‘He started it’ remains an explanation, not a defence.”

V CAMPUS GROUNDS

SHARED CAMPUS

Saint Aurelius Hall, the Concord Quadrangle, Grand Library, Refectory, Chapel of Crown and Thorn, Infirmary and Aurelius Athletic Grounds are shared institutional spaces.

Students must respect scheduled access periods for both Court timetables.

VI SCHEDULES & TIMETABLES

CURFEW & SCHEDULES

Students must observe their respective Court residential hours, curfews and quiet periods.

Being awake outside a Court’s normal timetable is not prohibited, provided students do not disturb the academic or residential schedule of others.

“A corridor argument at 3:14 a.m. is still a corridor argument.”

VII ISLAND TRANSIT

ISLAND DEPARTURE

Students may not leave Vesper Island without recorded Academy permission.

All ferry departures, private transfers and authorised mainland visits must be approved.

“Swimming is not an approved form of departure.”

VIII INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY

RESTRICTED AREAS

Students may not enter staff-only facilities, maintenance passages, restricted laboratories, coastal service tunnels or operational sections of the South Docks without authorisation.

“A door being unlocked does not make the room unrestricted.”

IX CO-CURRICULAR

ATHLETICS

Students participating in Academy athletics must comply with team, medical and training requirements.

Mixed Crown and Thorn teams operate as Saint Aurelius Academy teams rather than Court factions.

X ORGANISATIONS

SOCIETY CONDUCT

Membership in one of the Twelve Societies does not grant immunity from Academy rules or authority over Academy staff.

Society officers remain subject to the same academic, residential and disciplinary standards as other students.

“Yes, this includes Peter.”

XI DATA & PRIVACY

PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY

Students may not distribute private medical information, residential records, restricted Academy documents or another student’s biological status without permission.

XII DISCIPLINE & REVIEW

DISCIPLINARY REVIEW

Serious or repeated breaches are reviewed by Academy staff and appropriate Court leadership.

Consequences may include loss of privileges, removal from a Society or team, residential restrictions, suspension or dismissal.

XIII CAMPUS FAUNA

DO NOT FEED THE RAVENS

Do not feed the ravens.

“Yes, I am talking to you.”
